Welcome to the Angel Inn, Suffolk
The Angel Inn is a traditional Grade II 16th century Suffolk coaching inn with open fires, original brickwork and oak beams. It is a typical “Old English” country pub offering cosy and snug areas coupled with a larger open plan dining room and six beautifully styled boutique bedrooms if you need accommodation, all set in the heart of Constable country.
The Angel Inn has undergone a full refurbishment to create a relaxing friendly atmosphere with a comprehensive selection of international beers, regional real ales, wines from around the world coupled with at-the-bar light refreshments and deli snacks; in fact everything you would expect at an English pub.
In our dining room we have redesigned our menus, to create a blend of British and European cuisine, serving a choice of seasonally changing food, freshly prepared, throughout the day.
We have also restyled our six beautifully furnished en-suite bedrooms, which are ideal if you are looking for overnight accommodation Suffolk or a base to explore this stunning part of Constable country.
Whether you’re here with friends for an evening drink, meeting business associates for lunch, or staying with us to enjoy the wonderful Suffolk countryside, we hope The Angel Inn will be a pub where you can relax, spend a night or two in wonderful accommodation, and enjoy our hospitality.

Feeling summery, Saturday 28th April – Enjoy the perfect start to summer with our alfresco dining dates. Join us between 3pm and 7pm for a tasty barbecue and make the most of the lovely spring sunshine.
Our sister pub, The Anchor Inn in nearby Nayland, is reopening its doors on Saturday 5th May after an exciting refurbishment programme to transform it into a friendly, welcoming and stylish village inn.

The Angel has six boutique double bedrooms, perfect for an overnight stay or longer break if you’re here to explore this stunning part of the Suffolk countryside.
All have en-suite bath or shower rooms, very comfortable beds, full tea and coffee making facilities, free WiFi, hairdryers, flat screen TV’s with Freeview, and, of course, a wonderful full English or continental breakfast to start your day.
