Something really special
“My boyfriend and I went to stay at The Angel for two nights on a dinner bed and breakfast deal. We were made to feel so welcome as soon as we arrived. Overall the service was attentive and friendly but not over bearing.
Our meal was excellent and I thought the menu was very well balanced. There were some traditional dishes along with some really creative seasonal dishes and a wide range of specials as well presented in a beautiful way. The menu was very reasonably priced and they are doing some great special offers for hotel and restaurant guests.
Our room was very comfortable and cosy. The decor was contemporary and yet sympathetic to the original style and features. The breakfast was great, the first time I’ve had a duck egg!

The Angel of East Anglia
“Courtyard eating, drinking, smoking a delight, even in Siberian temperatures.
Well groomed staff, uniformed, (Black & Black (with a bit of anarchic white!) unswervingly polite, helpful and deferential. I admire this place enourmously. It deserves to survive, especially with the rather stiff competition a short stagger away.
Food exceptionally good value and constructive criticism always welcomed.

Charming winter escape
“Pub was lovely inside. Obviously benefits from recent refit and when we met staff they were really friendly & relaxed and showed us to our room.
Room was really nice, tidy, stylish decor, good tv, free wifi and nice ensuite bathroom. We had a room at the front of the building overlooking fields opposite. Great value for the mid week price (we visited on a tuesday night).” London, December 2011. See TripAdvisor review
Very lovely and welcoming
“I stayed here with my husband and son for one night while visiting family. The hotel is very beautiful, the interior and exterior is so quaint and lovely. We had an extra bed put in the room for my son and the room was still plenty big enough with a huge bathroom. The staff were so welcoming especially one of the managers James who was so friendly and helpful. I much preffered staying here to a more busier hotel chain, it felt very homely. We only ate breakfast which was also exceptional. I would definitely return to this hotel.” England, July 2011
The perfect place to unwind and relax
“The Angel offers characterful and comfortable accommodation; the housekeeping was excellent. In a very quiet, quaint village overlooking the beautiful Dedham Vale, it is perfectly situated to explore the many attractions this area has to offer – from coast to culture!. The food was a real treat – certainly comparable or better than some celebrity ‘Gastro pubs’ we have visited in London. We could not fault the friendly service of the Angel staff who are very hard-working and accommodating to their guests.”

Amazing Meal – What a great time!
“Just been in for a meal at the Angel Inn with all our family to celebrate a family birthday. Even though the pub was busy the customer service was second to none. Staff were eager to help and nothing was too difficult.
Thank you everyone at the Angel and we will be back for many more meals to come.
Some family also stayed in the hotel, which is beautifully furnished, clean and quiet. They would like to recommend this Inn to anyone who is looking for somewhere to stay in the area.”
